This gasket set for the blind cover of the VVT camshaft wheel has been specially developed for Mazda MX-5 MK2,5 1.8 litre models of the second series (MK2,5 facelift with VVT). As the original Mazda spare part is no longer available, this kit is an important solution for maintenance and repair work.

In the NB8 engine with Variable Valve Timing (VVT), the VVT camshaft pulley is located on the intake camshaft. For many engine jobs – such as changing the O-rings, servicing the valve train or overhauling the engine – the VVT wheel must be removed. The original blind cover gasket is removed during this process and should be replaced afterwards to ensure a reliable seal.

As this Mazda original part has now been discontinued, a suitable replacement is particularly important to prevent oil leaks in the VVT system area.
