Genuine mazda part, crankcase valve PCV. Through this valve the unburned gas mixture (piston seal is never 100% sealed) is rerouted to the inletsystem for combustion.
When this valve is defective the pressure in other components of the engine can be faulty. When replaced always also replace the seal (partnr:NAB-701019 )

Caution: the MK2 1998 - 2000 1,8l model uses a different PCV valve, this is easily identified by the 90 degree bend on the top of the valve (partnumber: NB1-701059) opposed to the straight pipe on top of the NAB-701018 valve
