The problem shortly explained:
On the older MX-5 MK1 models in particular, this T-piece was severely affected by corrosion and broke off from the thermostat housings, which naturally results in a loss of cooling water and can cause the engine to overheat.
IL Motorsport has already reacted to the situation and had its own thermostat housing produced.
We have had the T-piece for connecting the cooling water hoses made from stainless steel. This connection is inserted into the housing by means of a fit and additionally glued to ensure a secure hold.
Made from die-cast aluminum, our housing has a clean and smooth blasted surface.
