I.L.Motorsport Cold Air Box 98-05

This is our completely redesigned intake system! We have taken our market leading cold air induction kit and made it even better. It is now even more effective, lighter and cheaper! We have invested a great deal of time and money to develop new moulds to work with the very best of new materials to increase the airflow and the physical strength of the filter, whilst at the same time, reducing both the weight and the retail cost. The intake system takes the original size of panel filter, so you can use your existing paper filter or replace it with any performance panel that is designed for the Mazda MX-5 TYPE NB 98-05. The design of the intake is such that it gets only fresh cold air from in front of the radiator. The TUV version is delivered with a snorkel and hose system that picks up cold air from inside of the front wing, similar to the OEM system. We have dyno tested the European 1.6ltr engine and this showed a 7hp increase when using our intake. We hope to have a dyno test for the 1.8ltr available soon. Our carefully designed intake works by only picking up cool air, reducing the distance that the intake air has to travel, and removing as many restrictions as possible. This means that the air reacts much stronger and faster than in a standard system or any other intake that we know of on the MX5 market. This is a very high quality product, proudly 'Made in Germany'.
