ATI Super Damper is the name of this pulley that performs perfect work especially with high-performance Miatas. With engine performances over 250 HP the series pulleys are completely overtaxed.
Especially in high speed ranges dangerous crankshaft harmonics occur, which lead to a parasitic loss of power.
The ATI Super Damper unit replaces the stock vibration damper on the crankshaft with something that is basically two in one. A 4-inch diameter inner damper and a 6 3/8-inch, 7-inch or 8-inch diameter outer damper in two shells that bolt to the crank hub. These dampers are designed to maintain precise timing for the best possible performance.The result is not only a safer engine, but one that runs smoother all the time and is subject to less wear thanks to improved vibration absorption.
The ATI Super Damper pulley is suitable for:
all NA models with 1.8 Ltr. engine 94-98.
The manufacturer also recommends to replace the guide wedge and the locking screw for the pulley during installation.
