This spacer adapter is required for mounting the IL Motorsport oil cooler sets for use in the 1.6L engines (engine code B6) in the MX-5 NA/NB/NBFL. Due to the 1.6L models not having a standard oil/water heat exchanger, these vehicles require the IL Motorsport spacer adapter. This spacer creates the necessary distance between the engine block, sandwich adapter and oil filter to allow the sandwich plate, sensors and the oil lines for supply and return to be fitted without any problems. Only in this way can the oil lines with their fittings be placed in the correct position and laid in a relaxed radius.
IL Motorsport has manufactured the spacer in the shape of a diabolo in order to implement a minimalist design and manufacture the adapter in a slim and weight-optimized way.
